cPanel Access Ports Are Blocked By My ISP

It does happen that a ISP (Internet Service Provider) or the place at which you work may have blocked cPanel access ports which would be 2083 for cpanel and 2087 for WHM (reseller account). if you find you are having troubles accessing your cPanel or WHM login than this may be why.

How To Test If cPanel Or WHM Port Is Blocked

For Windows

  • Click Start
  • Click Run
  • Type cmd
  • Type telnet yourdomainname.com 2083

For Linux Or Mac

  • Start your Linux/Mac OS console terminal
  • Type telnet yourdomainname.com 2083

If the ports are not blocked you will get a message similar to:
Connected to servername.com.Escape character is '^]'.

Because of this we offer an alternative proxy connect that allows you to connect to cPanel or WHM like so:

cpanel.yourdomain.com
yourdomain.com/cpanel
whm.yourdomain.com

If you are not using our nameservers than you will need corresponding A-Records where you manage your DNS.
